Memory & Company offers world-class accommodation and Respite Care in Markham for those living with Memory Loss. From daily Premium Day Programs to open-end, short-term, and long-term stays, our programs are focused on the needs and goals of everyone involved. 

What’s Included at the Markham Club? 

Our Memory Care at our Markham Club offers various programs tailored to the interests, abilities, and cognitive and physical capabilities of each individual Member. Everyone has access to professional nursing, therapies, recreational activities, healthy meals, and specialized personal care such as massages, manicures/pedicures, and hair services. 

Our Markham Club has a theatre, Member kitchen, golf putting green, and an easy-to-navigate layout. The entire environment has state-of-the-art security and safety features included in the overnight accommodation suites and throughout the club. 

Care We Provide at Our Markham Club

At our Markham Club, we offer personal care and supportive assistance in daily living activities. From personalized care and support to individualized programs and activities, our Team Members give excellent care and attention in our Premium Day Program, Short-Term, and Long-Term accommodations.  

• Premium Day Program: Our Premium Day Program at our Markham Club is designed with activities and programs tailored to the physical and cognitive abilities of our Members. Through fitness and socialization programs and pet, music, and art therapies, we provide mental stimulation through fun initiatives that are failure-free and success oriented. 
• Respite Care: Respite Care is intended to be a reprieve for primary care partners who are caring for someone living with Memory Loss. Our Respite Care is offered in various lengths of time from hours, days, weeks, or months. The Respite Care at Markham focuses on the person living with Memory Loss as well as the care partner(s). 
• Long-Term Stay: Long-term care at our Markham Club is provided by knowledgeable and certified Team Members with around the clock care and support. Our accommodations include participation in the Premium Day Program in addition to personalized cognitive and physical fitness programs.  
• Short-Term Stay: Short-term care in Markham at Memory & Company involves the same world-class Premium Day Program and assistance as our long-term care. Our short-term program is often used by care partners for Respite Care and/or as a supervised stay for vacations or trips. 

Benefits of Our Memory Care

We provide specific benefits designed to enhance the daily living of persons living with Memory Loss. Our recreation programs are designed and managed by qualified professionals to help slow down the Memory Loss process while supporting cognitive health. Programs include the use of various therapies, fitness programs, and socialization opportunities. 

We understand the importance of nutrition for cognitive abilities, which is why, at Memory & Company, we offer meals and snacks rich in antioxidants and good fats. Our Executive Chefs offer personalized meals based on nutrition and dietary restrictions. 

Staff Expertise

Our highly qualified and compassionate Team Members have experience and education in the direct care of those living with Memory Loss. We have Recreation Therapists, Personal Support Workers, Social Workers, Nurses, and Gerontologists onsite at all times.

The various stages of dementia, Parkinson’s disease, stroke, Alzheimer’s, brain injuries, and Memory Loss require full support and attention which are part of our goals at Memory & Company. Our Member to Team Member ratio stands at a minimum of 5:1 to ensure proper care and support is given to every Member. 

Accommodations and Suite Details

For short-term and long-term stays, our Markham suites are available as private studio or suites for couples. Each suite is fully furnished with modern home-like amenities designed with the needs of Members. Safety and security features such as motion sensors, intercoms, and lighting are installed strategically throughout the suite and bathroom. 

Price

Our overnight accommodations begin at $330 per night with a fully furnished private suite with a two-piece washroom, use of common space, three meals and two snacks daily, housekeeping, laundry, utilities, 24-hour nursing care, medication management, basic care package, and bathing assistance, as well as access to our Premium Day Program.

All of our Membership fees are HST exempt and tax deductible and may be covered by some critical care health spending accounts, long-term care insurance, and life insurance plans.
